We're Off to See the Wizard...

We had a lot of fun dressing up for Halloween this year! My wonderful Mom made a Dorothy costume for Riana last year and Glenda for Sariah this year, so we decided to dress in a theme. Tierra dressed as the Scarecrow and Karina went as the "Roarrr!!" I mean the Lion. I found a few silver items at Goodwill and went as the Tin"woman." And Grant bought a Matrix costume and added a few things to be the Wicked Witch. The girls were a bit scared of Daddy though, as you can see. I would love to see pictures of everyone in their costumes!! :)

Little Meadows Pictures

This is Little Meadows in the Blue Mountains where Loren Cheney lived in a cabin with his parents during the depression. Living on grey squirrels, elk, deer and whatever supplies they could afford from Walla Walla. As an adult, he frequently took his family there. His children have fond memories of these experiences.

Christmas at the Cheneys on the 27th!

We had Christmas at our parents house on the 27th (because it was our year to go to the inlaws), and had Christmas dinner (with the Monson traditional clam chower--it was delicious!), opened gifts (our parents made us each a really neat 72-hour kit--a great gift idea!), had a talent show (with singing, clog dancing, violins, piano, etc). It was great. We are still planning on re-enacting the Nativity Scene--a tradition for us. It has been nice for us to visit with each other and share in the love! :)
